Vessels Of Honor

Updated: Jan 15, 2021

2 Timothy 2:21 (AMP) Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from these things [which are dishonorable—disobedient, sinful], he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified [set apart for a special purpose and], useful to the Master, prepared for every good work.

Kathryn Kuhlman once said: “The Heavenly Father does not ask for golden vessels. He does not ask for silver vessels. God asks for yielded vessels – those who will submit their will to the will of the Father.” This year's journey comes in the beginning of understanding submission to the Lord in various aspects. Not only loving what the Lord loves and hating what the Lord hates but being aware and sensitive to the Holy Spirit. I got in a moment at a random time during a conversation recently that I had to excuse myself to go to the restroom. Not to use the restroom, but the pray. I asked God to remove from my mouth, heart and mind everything and anything that did not align with His will, way, truth or life (John 14:6). I wanted to be so determined to move forward. That included moving forward, away from people gossiping. I went back to the table and listened but did not say much. However, I did pray that persons heart to be changed. To see situations through Gods eyes and insight. I am sure the story that individual was sharing would have had a different outcome. In my studying of the Holy Spirit, there is spiritual warfare. What you speak is what manifest. Repentance is important in each step. In the moment I was trying to renew not just my mind but my whole self (Romans 12). When things are happening that you feel by the spirit but are not seen that make you uncomfortable? That is your spirit guiding you into action by putting on the full armor of God. The apostle Paul said: “The weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds” (2 Corinthians 10:4). 2018 I decided to fight back by the spirit with prayer and praise. I am moving forward and not bound to the things of this world. Sometimes, that means walking alone. That is okay. I pray that you too will fight back this year. Fight back against the negative talk you say to yourself. Fight back against any bitterness, anger, jealousy, envy, lust, disillusionment, bad habits or behaviors of any kind. Fight back against the lie of "your dream is dead" because it is never too late to start again, speak life to your situation. I pray that God renews your strength and courage to get out of the situation that has you bound. I can tell you this, it might take a while or it can happen immediately but today you can ask the Holy Spirit, who is your helper, to help you to speak life in every situation, but also step into God's will for your life. Father, I pray that each of us will search our inner self to be used by You. That our sole desire for our lives is what You desire. To be Your yielded vessels of honor unto you. Whatever is coming against us shall not come to pass. Holy Spirit we put all of our situations under the blood of Jesus. The battle we face is Yours and not ours. Teach us how to pass through into Your victory as we give You Glory in each step. That 2018 we seek diligently for what pleases You. We thank You and ask in Jesus mighty name. Amen.

Ephesians 6:18 (NIV) "And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people."

2 Chronicles 20:22 (NIV) "As they began to sing and praise, the Lord set ambushes against the men of Ammon and Moab and Mount Seir who were invading Judah, and they were defeated."
